Rumble, Thunder Girls & Drummers Headline Edmond’s AAA Car Care Center Grand Opening Saturday

April 3, 2019 - Just in time for severe weather season, free windshield wiper, tire and battery checks will be offered as AAA opens Edmond’s first Car Care, Insurance and Travel Center. This new location is only the second of its kind in Oklahoma and the entire Great Plains region. All are invited to the Grand Opening Saturday, April 6, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at 1701 S. Broadway, for food, festivities and vehicle prep for spring’s fury.
Rainy conditions result in 68 percent of weather-related crashes, more than snow, sleet or fog combined. According to research by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, an average of 2,239 people die in rain-related crashes annually in the U.S. “This event is a great opportunity to get prepared before the next spring storm arrives. Automotive maintenance helps reduce risks of wrecks and breakdowns on the road,” said Leslie Gamble, AAA spokesperson. “With busy lives, it’s nice to multi-task, getting car diagnostic checks and repairs while taking care of home or auto insurance, planning a trip or shopping for seasonal gifts,” said Gamble.
Drawings will also be conducted for a $100 AAA Car Care Coupon, $100 Lenscrafters Gift Card, Free Deluxe Oil Change and more.
Lunch will be provided from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and everyone can enjoy seeing these special guests:
- Rumble the Bison - 11 - 11:30 a.m.
- Thunder Drummers and Thunder Girls - 11a.m. - Noon
- Caricature’s by Funny Figs 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- Jazz music featuring Forcina & Friends – Noon to 2 p.m.
While the new center provides all of the services that auto club members have come to expect from AAA’s retail locations, car care services are being introduced for non-members as well. AAA members will enjoy a lower price with a discount on repair labor.
Maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs such as tires, brakes, tune-ups, air conditioning and cooling systems, battery replacements, and electrical work are available. Complimentary Lyft rides for automotive services customers traveling to or from the store are offered through AAA’s partnership with the ride-share company. This location offers a free self-serve station for drivers to check and add air to their tires and a charging station for drivers to power up their electric vehicles. Focus on car care is an important element in AAA’s mission to improve traffic safety.
With eight car service bays and the latest in automotive repair technology, skilled automotive technicians will provide top-notch service befitting the reputation that has led 400,000 Oklahomans to trust the not-for-profit association for its motoring and travel-related services.
This new AAA Car Care Insurance and Travel Center replaces the AAA store previously at S.E. 33rd and Boulevard in Edmond. Associates have relocated to the new center.
