Home Safely after too much Thanksgiving Partying…Call AAA for a FREE Tipsy Tow instead.

Nov. 17, 2017 – AAA’s free Tipsy Tow for motorists who feel unsafe behind the wheel after holiday parties starts this Wednesday, Nov. 22, at 6 p.m. and runs until 2 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 27 at 4 a.m..  AAA South Dakota will come get you, one more passenger and your car and give you all a free ride home.  The community service is offered to AAA members and non-members alike, no questions asked.

“We want to give South Dakotans an alternative to climbing behind the wheel drunk,” said Marilyn Buskohl, spokesperson for AAA South Dakota.  “Over the holidays, up to 40 percent of all crashes involve alcohol.  Why roll the dice?  Use options like designated drivers, mocktails (recipes available at AAA.com/mocktail), and Tipsy Tow.”

The service is available in Sioux Falls, Rapid City, Mitchell, Yankton, Vermillion and Aberdeen.  There is a 15-mile limit for tows and the only place AAA will take you is home, not to another party.

“To request a Tipsy Tow, call 1-800-222-4357 (AAA-HELP) and say, ‘I need a Tipsy Tow,” Buskohl said.  “AAA will do the rest – and we’ll all be safer on the road this Thanksgiving.”

AAA South Dakota will also be offering free Tipsy Tows over the three weeks before and during the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
