TOWSON, MD (June 6, 2018) – June is here, which will mean a busy month for those shoppers who will be bearing gifts for graduations and Father’s Day celebrations.
According to the annual consumer survey on graduation gift spending released by the National Retail Federation, the average person buying graduation gifts will spend over $102 with total spending expected to reach $5.2 billion, the third-highest number in the survey’s 12-year history.
Father’s Day will be celebrated by 77 percent of Americans, who will spend an average of $133 per person with total spending expected to rise to a near-record $15.3 billion this year, according to the Federation’s annual Father’s Day consumer survey.
Clothing, gift cards and electronics will be the most popular gift items to be purchased for both dads and grads, according to the surveys.
While many AAA members only think of using their membership when it comes to their car, members can also use their card to save a bundle when shopping for the dads and grads in their life. These money-saving discounts are available to anyone with a AAA card.
Information on all discounts can be found at AAA.com/Discounts.
As gift cards are a popular present for dads and grads according to the NRF’s consumer surveys, AAA Mid-Atlantic stores sell a variety of gift cards for retailers such as Macy’s, Kohl’s, JC Penney, Amazon, and Best Buy. To find a store location, visit www.AAA.com/Store.
