Holiday Travel, Free Battery Checks Focus of Grand Opening

December 13, 2018 - Just in time for winter car preparation and holiday travel, AAA invites all to the grand opening of Oklahoma’s first AAA Car Care Insurance and Travel Center on Saturday, December 15, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at 6163 N. May Ave. AAA is bringing the new prototype location to Oklahoma as the concept has been popular at AAA locations in other states. “Travelers can plan a trip or take care of home or auto insurance needs while getting car diagnostic checks and repairs,” said Gamble.

During the grand opening event, free battery checks will be provided for those wanting to make sure their vehicles are ready for winter’s fury. Visitors can also enter to win tickets to Oklahoma City Thunder games, OU and OSU basketball games. Drawings will also be conducted for a $100 AAA Car Care Coupon, $50 Visa® card, luggage, movie tickets and more.

Lunch will be provided and everyone can enjoy seeing these special guests:

11 a.m. – Noon – Santa

Noon – 1 p.m. – the Thunder Drummers

1 – 2 p.m. – the Thunder Girls

Customers visiting the 10,800-square-foot location will be able to access car repair and service alongside traditional AAA membership, travel and insurance services. The one-stop shopping environment includes great Christmas gift ideas, such as luggage, travel accessories and AAA roadside assistance memberships with gift cards available to popular retailers and entertainment venues.

While the new location will provide all of the services that auto club members have come to expect at traditional AAA locations, car care services are available to non-members as well. AAA members will enjoy a lower price with a discount on repair labor. Maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs such as tires, brakes, tune-ups, air conditioning and cooling systems, battery replacements, and electrical work will be offered. Complimentary Lyft rides for automotive services customers traveling to or from the store will be available through AAA’s partnership with the ride-share company. Focus on car care is an important element in AAA’s mission to improve traffic safety.

With eight car service bays and the latest in automotive repair technology, skilled automotive technicians will provide top-notch service befitting the reputation that has led 400,000 Oklahomans to trust the not-for-profit association for its motoring and travel-related services.

“We expect this new store to be full of those focused on making the most of their time,” said Gamble. “With the holiday travel period upon us, the Car Care Center is a timely addition for pre-road trip vehicle checkups and travel preparations.”

This new AAA Car Care Insurance and Travel Center replaces the AAA store previously at N.W. 39^th & Portland. Associates have relocated to the new center.
