AAA: After Coldest Weekend Yet, Highest Call Volume Yet
Three hours in a row averaging more than 200 calls per hour
On the heels of our coldest weekend yet, AAA is experiencing its highest call volume yet.
For three hours in a row, from 9am to noon Monday, AAA Emergency Roadside Service averaged more than 200 calls per hour – just in Greater Hartford alone.
“For drivers across Connecticut, the warming trend cannot come soon enough,” says Amy Parmenter, spokesperson for AAA in Greater Hartford. “Responding to service calls during an occasional cold snap is what we do best but the prolonged stretch of extreme cold has stretched our resources like never before. Our emergency responders have, with little relief, been working around the clock since Christmas”.
As of 3:30p, AAA in Greater Hartford had received more than 1500 calls for service.
