Tulsa, OK, (September 1, 2017) -- While the focus of the impact of Hurricane Harvey has been on rescue efforts and flooded homes, the long clean up that is just beginning in Houston will also include the removal of tens of thousands of flooded cars and trucks, now littering the landscape as the waters start to recede.

To assist in that effort, AAA Oklahoma is sending two tow trucks and four drivers from its fleet location in Tulsa.  They will be joined by two additional tow truck teams dispatched from Wichita, KS.  Additional AAA resources are currently on standby and will be dispatched as needed.

“The cleanup of thousands of flooded, undriveable vehicles is going to take a Herculean effort,” says Mark Madeja, spokesman for AAA Oklahoma. “AAA can use towing resources and roadside rescue expertise to help in the recovery efforts.”

AAA provides automotive, travel, and insurance services to 57 million members nationwide and more than 400,000 members in Oklahoma.
