AAA Mid-Atlantic Applauds Wilmington’s Use of Mobile Parking Payment Technology
AAA National Policy Supports Use of Pay-By-Phone Apps for Parking
WILMINGTON, DE (October 25, 2017) – AAA Mid-Atlantic, the leading advocate for motorists for more than 100 years, applauds the city of Wilmington for initiating the use of a mobile parking app in the city. In the spring of 2017, AAA Mid-Atlantic worked with the city of Wilmington and Downtown Visions on the Street Parking Optimization Team.
“Under the leadership of Mayor Purzycki, the city of Wilmington is making much needed and long-overdue improvements to its street parking management strategy,” said Ken Grant, Manager of Public and Government Affairs for AAA Mid-Atlantic in Delaware. “We are happy to see this development that will help residents, visitors, businesses, and all drivers in Wilmington – and we look forward to additional convenient and user-friendly parking options for motorists in the city.”
AAA National Policy recommends incorporating, whenever possible, intelligent transportation systems in parking management, including, but not limited to pay-by-phone applications; spot availability notifications; and, where justified by an appropriate parking study, variable meter pricing.
