March 16, 2021 — AAA retail offices will be busy with hundreds of travelers making appointments for TSA Pre® in light of renewed optimism about traveling in 2021. Destination Analysts recently conducted a survey which found that 84% of those surveyed have at least tentative plans to travel in 2021.

To make it easier for travelers to sign up now for the screening program that offers an expedited process at the airport, AAA is hosting TSA Pre® events.

With a parallel between the vaccine roll out and increased optimism among the traveling public, this is a great time to add this coveted travel credential which lasts for five years and will help many reduce future contact risks at the airport.

WHAT: AAA TSA Pre® events for local travelers planning future vacations.

WHO: Travelers with plans to fly over the next five years can sign up now for the screening program that will offer an expedited process at the airport, minimizing contact and helping to reduce health risks.

Local TSA Events:

  • March 22-March 26 – Dayton South, 14 W. Whipp Road
  • March 29-April 2 – Dayton North, 6580 N. Main Street
  • April 5-April 9 – Troy, 4 S. Stanfield Road
  • April 26- April 30 – Huber Heights, 8381 Old Troy Pike
  • May 3-May 7 – Beavercreek, 3321 Dayton Xenia Road

ADDITIONAL DETAILS: With TSA Pre®, travelers have no need to remove shoes, 3-1-1 liquids, laptops, light outerwear or belts. Today, TSA Pre® has more than 450 lanes at 200+ U.S. airports.

Appointments are limited and are still available on a first-come, first-serve basis, so register as soon as possible at https://www.aaa.com/tsa. Online registration and appointment scheduling should be completed in advance. Proof of identity and U.S. Citizenship is required at all appointments. Your name on the documents must match exactly with your proof of identity. If they do not, bring an original or certified copy of a court ordered name change document (to include marriage certificates and divorce decrees).

If you have a valid U.S. passport, that is all you need for ID. Applications will be processed onsite.  Follow these steps to pre-enroll:

  1. Click here to access the application page.
  2. Click “Start Application Now,” then click “New Enrollment.”
  3. Fill out steps and choose “Next” at the bottom of each screen.
  4. Type in your location at Zip Code/City/Airport Code box and then search.
  5. Choose the AAA location and click “Next.”

The process will be completed onsite by providing your fingerprints for a background check. The application fee is $85 and can be paid by credit card, money order, company check, or certified/cashier's check.

Cash and personal checks are not accepted.

Children ages 12 and younger may use the TSA Pre® lane when traveling with a parent or guardian who has the indicator on their boarding pass. Travelers 13 years of age and older without a TSA Pre® boarding pass must go through standard security lanes.
