Harvest time means an abundance of fresh produce, plants, flowers and more and what better place to get those items than straight from the source? Numerous farmers’ markets will keep you coming back for handmade items such as food, woodworking, crafts and more. Multiple options include the Haymarket Farmers’ Market, Sunday Farmers’ Market at College View and Fallbrook Farmers’ Market. Come celebrate community, agriculture, entertainment and food well into October at Lincoln’s farmers’ markets.

Just 15 minutes south of Lincoln, Roca Berry Farm is fun for all ages. Pick your own pumpkins and enjoy a full day of fall activities, including hayrack rides, a corn maze, haunted barns and more. The pumpkin patch is the oldest and largest in Lancaster County with over 100,000 pumpkins on 25 acres. Roca Berry Farm also hosts weddings and other special events in the newly renovated Creekside Event Barn, accommodating up to 300 guests in 3,700 square feet of rustic elegance.

Nebraska’s largest winery, James Arthur Vineyards boasts wonderful and scenic views of the Nebraska countryside just minutes northwest of Lincoln. Nestled amidst 400 acres of rolling hills and natural prairie grasslands, their 8,000-square foot facility houses a tasting room, gift shop and production facilities for the winery. Stroll around the grounds, relax under a covered deck by the waterfall or enjoy an intimate setting by one of the crackling fires in the tasting room as you sample specialty Nebraska wines, cheeses, meats and breads.

When the night chill sets in, there is a warm seat waiting for you at a renowned theatre. The Lied Center for the Performing Arts is a state-of-the-art performing arts facility known internationally as a top 100 performing arts center. Programs include marquee artists, ranging from top Broadway musicals to contemporary dance and the most in-demand orchestras in the world. Located in downtown Lincoln on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln city campus, the Lied Center is ready to kick off a joyful and celebratory season with a return to full event programming. This season includes performances by the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, Berlin Philharmonic Piano Quartet, Riverdance, Jersey Boys and many additional Broadway and world-class shows.
