2019 Review: Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit

 

What if you could outfit a llama with a pair of Coach leather bags? You’d end up with something not unlike the Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit: a beast that will go anywhere, tote all your stuff and look stylish doing it.

Aesthetically, this midsize luxury SUV has a sophisticated appearance that you don’t normally associate with vehicles of its utilitarian ilk. In fact, the interior of this top Summit model compares favorably with many high-end sedans. There’s that usefulness factor, too. Along with room for four adults, the Grand Cherokee offers a large cargo area and the ability to tow more than 7,000 pounds.

The summit is also sure-footed, a trait that’s been bred out of most SUVs. With its serious four-wheel-drive system, 10.8 inches of ground clearance and adjustable air suspension, the Grand Cherokee Summit can ford rainwater-flooded streets with aplomb.

Ultimately, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit’s place as the ideal upscale pack mule is secure.
