BIG DAM PARTY
August 30–September 2
Live music, fireworks and water activities are among the plans for this Labor Day weekend bash that officially opens new features adjacent to Gathering Place, Tulsa, Oklahoma’s riverfront park. A recently constructed pedestrian bridge connects the east and west banks of the Arkansas River and Zink Lake, which was created by a new dam south of the bridge. MIDDLE OF EVERYWHERE MUSIC FESTIVAL

Organizers in the southeast Kansas town of Humboldt invite blues and roots musicians from Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Missouri to meet in the middle.
