If you sign up for a Classic membership, you are covered for the first 5 miles of towing at no charge per service call, with any additional mileage charged at a discounted rate. You can also have your vehicle towed up to 40 miles to a AAA Tire & Auto Center at no extra cost. If your tow exceeds the applicable mileage limit, you’ll pay a discounted rate for each additional mile. Classic membership includes up to four service calls per member each membership year. If you typically stay close to home, Classic may be the best option for your needs.

Plus: Up to 100 miles, 4x/year

Plus is the first upgrade after Classic, offering expanded towing coverage that suits most drivers’ needs.

Plus members can have their vehicle towed to the destination of their choice up to 100 miles per service call, with up to four service calls per membership year. If a tow exceeds 100 miles, the member pays a discounted rate for each additional mile.

Premier: Up to five service calls per member, with one tow up to 200 miles per household

Premier members receive up to five service calls per membership year. Towing is covered for up to 100 miles per service call. Across the Premier household, one covered tow may be up to 200 total miles each membership year. If a tow exceeds the applicable mileage limit, the member pays a discounted rate for each additional mile.

No one plans for a breakdown, but choosing the right AAA membership level ahead of time can make an unexpected roadside emergency a whole lot less stressful.

Which AAA Membership offers the longest towing distance?

Premier offers the longest towing coverage, including up to four 100-mile tows and one 200-mile tow each year.

Is AAA towing coverage based on the car or the Member?

AAA towing coverage is tied to the Member. You can use your Membership even if you're riding in a friend’s vehicle or driving a rental car.

Does AAA tow motorcycles?

Yes. Motorcycle coverage is available as an add-on and is not included in standard Classic, Plus, or Premier Membership plans.

What if my AAA Membership doesn’t cover the full towing distance?

AAA can still tow your vehicle beyond your covered mileage. You’ll simply pay for the extra miles, often at a Member-discounted rate.

What happens if I use all my AAA service calls?

If you use all your service calls before your Membership year ends, additional services are available at a Member-preferred rate.

  • Flat tire changes
  • Lockout service
  • Emergency fuel delivery
  • Extrication if your vehicle is stuck
  • Bicycle assistance (in many regions)
