The newly refreshed BMW 330e sedan features the handsome styling, inspired performance and hint of class that have made this compact four-door a fixture in BMW’s lineup.

The debut of the 330e model’s new PHEV power train provides a turbocharged 4-cylinder gasoline engine with an electric motor for a total output of 288 hp and an all-electric range of 23 miles.

Ride and handling both have that sporty BMW feel. The cabin offers good room throughout, and there are high-tech features galore. Disappointingly, though, many of the most important advanced safety features—including adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring—come as extra-cost options.

In short, the BMW 330e may be more evolutionary than revolutionary, but this entry-level luxury model still deserves a spot on many buyers’ most-coveted cars lists.
