Renee Sklarew

Renee Sklarew is a native of Washington, DC, who has spent decades writing about food and travel in her hometown and the world. You can find her stories and photographs in publications such as Northern Virginia Magazine, AAA World, AAA Traveler Worldwise, Virginia Living and The Washington Post. She is the author of The Unofficial Guide to Washington DC, co-author of 60 Hikes Within 60 Miles of Washington DC, and has led educational tours of the MidAtlantic for Smithsonian Associates. Renee and her daughters enjoy collecting spices from all the places they visit and try to replicate their favorite dishes at home.
