William Purpura

William J. Purpura has served as editor of AAA Magazine (formerly Home & Away) since 1986, earning the publication several state and national awards, including the Silver Award from the National Travel Journalist Association for the creation of the AAA Celebrity Travel Series. During his tenure, Bill helped guide the publication into one that outpaced most other magazines -- including best-known national newsstand publications -- in readership, reader loyalty and reader behavior conversion.

He also serves as Corporate Communications Director, overseeing the organization's vast internal and external communications efforts. In the past, Bill has directed AAA Ohio's extensive Traffic Safety initiatives and its powerful statewide Public Relations programs and media outreach strategies. While Bill thrives in those various roles, his true passion lies within the world of magazine publishing, and he is thrilled to have been invited to serve with the highly talented editorial teams behind AAA World and AAA Traveler Worldwise.
