This midsize SUV has all the hallmarks this American luxury brand is known for, including a hushed interior and a super-smooth ride. There’s also plenty of the latest technology, such as a handy 360-degree surround-view camera and a nifty self-parking system.
Under the hood of the Grand Touring model that I drove is a 494-hp plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain that pairs a gasoline V-6 with an electric motor and a larger-than-average battery pack that allows you to travel about 20 miles in all-electric mode. When you use up those electrons, it switches to more familiar hybrid operation.
Figure in three rows of seats, a spacious cargo hold and a 6,700-pound tow rating, and you have a luxury SUV that’s also practical.
