The Toyota RAV4 comes in a range of six trims, plus several hybrid models. Most trims come with a choice of front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, which adds $1,400 to the price. The Adventure and TRD Off-Road trims are all-wheel drive only, as they’re designed for off-road adventuring that front-wheel drive can’t handle. No matter which trim you choose, the RAV4 is a strong choice for those who want a reliable, comfortable and well-equipped SUV at an affordable price.

When it comes to cargo, there’s 37.5 cubic feet behind the 60/40 split-folding rear seats and 69.8 cubic feet behind the front seats. Room behind the second row is high for the class, making this a great model for those who need to take along a full crew of people and cargo at the same time. Certain trim levels offer up to 3,500 pounds of towing capacity.

The Base RAV4 is powered by a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder gas engine with 203 horsepower that easily gets this SUV up to highway speeds, even fully loaded. It delivers a smooth ride with minimal road and wind noise, making it ideal for longer drives.

There’s a standard 8-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Wi-Fi connectivity and three USB ports. It’s easy to use and offers crisp graphics. An available 10.5-inch touchscreen gives the RAV4 a more premium look along with being easier to read, especially if the navigation route is complicated. Audiophiles will love the available 11-speaker JBL audio system, which sounds fantastic.

One of the strengths of the RAV4 is its abundance of standard safety features. There’s Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 with pre-collision warning, including pedestrian detection, lane departure alert and full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control. Hill start assist and trailer sway control are also standard.
