2021 Review: Hyundai Sonata N Line
There Are Certain Car Models You Would Never Imagine Being Available In A Performance Departure. Take the Hyundai Sonata N-Line, for instance.
No disrespect to this svelte midsize sedan intended, as it’s proven very likeable in both its standard and hybrid forms. No, it’s just a little remarkable what some tinkering will do.
In this case, the Hyundai folks have given the Sonata N-Line a vitamin boost in the form of the turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder. With an output of 290 horsepower—a whopping bump of 99 horsepower—this family car is deceptively quick. A beefed-up suspension makes good use of all that extra power without sacrificing a decent ride. The brakes are likewise upgraded.
Inside is the same comfortable interior I’ve liked in other versions. High points include supportive front sport seats, easy-to-read digital gauges and a large 10.3-inch infotainment display with a refreshingly straightforward touchscreen.
With an overall look that’s more sophisticated than flashy, the Sonata N-Line is a sport sedan that’s unexpectedly fresh.
