There’s a reason the fully redesigned Nissan Rogue is so popular—make that, several reasons.

Most people can agree that this compact crossover is a looker. Compared with the bland styling of the outgoing model, the new Rogue appears downright sporty.

Inside, the roomy passenger cabin features comfortable zero-gravity front seats. Rear doors swing wide to make it super-simple for passengers to get in and out. The large cargo hold offers 74.1 cubic feet of space, making the Rogue adept at hauling freight.

Under the hood, the 2.5 liter four-cylinder powering the front-wheel-drive SL model I drove gave it a nice combination of lively performance and respectable fuel economy. The suspension delivered a smooth ride and confident handling that backs up its athletic appearance.

There’s technology galore, too, including the ProPilot Assist that links to the navigation system to help the adaptive cruise control anticipate upcoming bends in the road.

In all, this all-new Rogue offers enough improvements to keep
winning crossover popularity contests for years to come.
