When you travel with Trafalgar, you’re doing more than visiting a destination. You’re stepping into the heart of a place by sharing meals with locals, exploring cultural traditions firsthand, and discovering stories passed down through generations. It’s travel that goes beyond sightseeing, designed to connect you to people and places in ways most tours can’t. And now, Trafalgar’s signature style of immersive, worry-free travel is expanding in a new direction: river cruising.

Vacation with connection

Trafalgar has long been known for uncovering the soul of a destination. Whether you’re dining with a Tuscan vintner at a farmhouse estate or joining a local family in Costa Rica for a traditional lunch, every journey includes at least one Be My Guest experience, providing real moments with real people in the places they call home. Instead of just observing a culture from the outside, you’re invited in. You’ll share stories over wine, learn treasured family recipes, and gain a deeper appreciation for the land, traditions, and people. With more than 100 Be My Guest experiences across itineraries, no two trips are quite the same, but each leaves a lasting impact.

Now boarding: The rivers of Europe

New for Trafalgar, river cruises bring their signature travel approach to two of Europe’s most iconic waterways. These small-ship journeys offer a relaxing way to explore multiple destinations without ever repacking your bags. Sail aboard the character-rich Trafalgar Verity or the bold and modern Trafalgar Reverie, each designed to reflect the spirit of the regions they explore. On board, you’ll dine on regionally inspired meals with wine and beer included, find 24/7 reception, and experience a high staff-to-guest ratio for personalized service throughout. You’ll still get all the cultural immersion Trafalgar is known for, just with the added luxury of drifting through vineyard-dotted valleys and medieval villages.

A closer look at new Trafalgar river cruises

Best of the Rhine and Amsterdam is a 10-day journey from Amsterdam to Basel with immersive stops in Cologne, Koblenz, Strasbourg, and more. Along the way, you’ll visit WWII landmarks, explore castles perched above the river, and cruise past the striking Deutsches Eck, where the Rhine and Moselle meet beneath a towering monument to Kaiser Wilhelm I. Expect a home-cooked lunch with the Bohrer family at their working farm in Germany’s Rhine plain, where you’ll learn how they grow seasonal produce the old-fashioned way.

Best of the Danube is an eight-day adventure that drifts through Austria’s Wachau Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, calls on Vienna and Bratislava, and takes in the architecture and history of Passau, where three rivers converge. Meet the Saahs family for an organic lunch at Austria’s oldest winery, and consider optional experiences like a Mozart and Strauss concert in Vienna, too.
