2020 Review: FORD MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE

IF YOU’VE NEVER DRIVEN A DROP-TOP BEFORE, EXPECT A BIT OF SENSORY OVERLOAD FROM THE MOMENT YOU PUSH THE BUTTON TO LOWER THE ROOF

The beach, the mountains, the city or the country. Wherever you go, you’ll experience more of it in a Ford Mustang Convertible.

If you’ve never driven a drop-top before, expect a bit of sensory overload from the moment you push the button to lower the roof. The world around you will come flooding in with sights, sounds and even smells that you might never have realized were there when you were hermetically sealed in your daily driver.

Inside, expect a retro-style passenger cabin with comfortable accommodations for two adults. Yes, there’s a back seat, but it’s no place for anyone bigger than a limber pre-teen because of the shortage of legroom and the difficulty of climbing in and out. Also, the 11.4 cubic feet of trunk space can sufficiently accommodate just two light packers.

Space issues aside, with the Mustang's spritely powertrain and comfort-tuned suspension, your vacation ride will make getting there half the fun.
