Ten things you won’t see in Orlando

Disneyland is Walt Disney’s original theme park, and there are many unique things here that even the most avid Orlando Disney fans might not know about. Let’s countdown to your summer vacation by counting down ten things at Disneyland that you won’t see in Orlando!

  1. Sleeping Beauty Castle
  2. The original here in Anaheim was opened in 1955 and has a real drawbridge. You can actually walk through the castle’s passageways where the timeless tale of Princess Aurora and the evil Maleficent has been brought to life in 3-dimensional displays inspired by the original artwork used in the film.
  3. Sailing Ship Columbia
  4. Step back in time on this majestic beauty located in Frontierland. This ten-gun, three-masted, 84 foot tall vessel is a full-scale replica of the first American ship to sail around the world. Once you're on deck, step below to the nautical museum and get a glimpse of life for the 1787 crew.
  5. Walt Disney's Apartment
  6. See where Walt actually slept and dreamt, right above the fire station on Main Street. Take the “Walk in Walt’s Footsteps” tour, and don’t forget to ask for your 20% AAA discount!
  7. Indiana Jones Adventure
  8. Journey back to 1935 and discover ominous ruins deep in the dense jungles of India's Lost Delta. Board a rugged troop transport, and enter the legendary Temple of the Forbidden Eye.
  9. Matterhorn Bobsleds
  10. Scale the snowy summit in your racing toboggan and then speed, screaming down the slopes, to a sensational splashdown. Get ready for a barreling breathtaking blast to the bottom as you plummet into an Alpine pond.
  11. Casey Jr. Circus Train
  12. Cheer for Casey as he recreates his epic struggle up hills from the classic animated feature, "Dumbo." Ride in a miniature circus train including cars designed as wild animal cages. Listen carefully to hear Casey optimistically chant "I think I can." Enjoy the view of the charming miniature villages of the Storybook Land Canal Boats.
  13. Storybook Land Canal Boats
  14. This laid-back canal cruise sails past meticulously crafted miniature scenes from classic Disney films. Your live host will point out charming sites including Pinocchio's cobblestone village, Aladdin's Agrabah, Alice's Wonderland and the Ball where Cinderella met Prince Charming.
  15. Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage
  16. Dive into the waters of Tomorrowland lagoon with Marlin and Dorry to find Nemo. You’ll board a whimsical yellow submarine discovering colorful reefs, ancient ruins, and an erupting underwater volcano.
  17. Mr. Toad's Wild Ride
  18. Keep your eyes peeled because Mr. Toad certainly isn't watching where he's going! Climb into your buggy and hang on as you travel with these wacky characters from the Disney classic "The Wind in the Willows".
  19. Davy Crockett's Explorer Canoes
  20. The 20-passager vessels are real, old-fashioned canoes — there is no motor and no track. Modeled after the boats that Native American explorers used to traverse the real rivers of America, these 35-foot-long canoes are powered entirely by the strong arms and paddles of the people inside.
