The Fort Monroe Visitor & Education Center, along with the Casemate Museum, interpret Fort Monroe’s legendary history as the 1619 arrival site of the first Africans in the English colonies. Complementing the formidable stone fort, breathtaking Outlook Beach overlooks the spectacular Hampton Roads harbor’s constant parade of ships, submarines, and recreational watercraft.
